Couples often trust me with creating their wedding album, which is a great honor because albums are heirlooms, often the first heirloom for a new family. I have taken tremendous care in developing my signature album – a flush mount leather album. What goes into an effective design, and superior print & build quality?
The first step is to select the most compelling images that tell a story. With my clients’ preferences in mind, I take those selections and fuse them into an initial design. Once a first draft has been completed, couples can proof an album design in two ways: viewing a PDF and a virtual layout. After reviewing this draft, couples share their notes (moving, adding or replacing photos in the layout, etc.) until we have a final draft.
I then ship the album order to my printer in NYC, who prints and builds the album with a skilled hand. A flush mount wedding album allows for unobstructed viewing of entire two-page spreads while its rigid pages provides an unparalleled viewing experience. Couples have the choice of some key features: a black, gray, brown or red genuine leather cover with gold or silver foil debossing (or a simple deboss with no foil as shown in the picture below); luster, matte or silk paper with silver, gold or black page edge gilding (also pictured below).
Albums are heirlooms, designed to last generations. I take tremendous pride in working with my couples in delivering a tangible reflection of their wedding that will be enjoyed countless times. Below are some images of my 2015 portfolio album.
