Perspective is such a critical component to the nature of a photograph. I somethings think about my perspective of a place that is new to me, then compare that first impression with how I think of the same place over time. Generally, my impressions change and I view the place differently. When a place is viewed from a radically different perspective – say from two-hundred feet above the ground – there are different qualities to witness: how the landscape flows; how the property nestles in with the surrounding properties; the scale of various components. I made this image with the help of a small camera mounted onto a quad-copter. At the time of the image, it was hovering above and slightly away from a wedding that my team was photographing. I find there is a stillness and a serenity to the image. It reflects the permanence of the place and the momentary nature of the ceremony below.
