I was at the Mountain Top Inn & Resort on Saturday photographing Kate & Mike’s wedding. The Mountain Top is one of those classically remote Vermont locations that once you’re there, you think, “can’t I just live up here all of the time?!” The wedding was basically a blast. Everyone brought the party, so the celebration went late into the night. Interestingly, one of the most captivating photos I made all night was serene (though there were plenty of hilarious dancing photos as well). I was setting up a camera for a time lapse series I wanted to make capturing the couple releasing some flying lanterns into the night sky. I was testing my camera with a 10-second exposure. While I was making the exposure, zoom!, a meteor cruised through the frame, directly over the Inn. It reminded me that sometimes the most important thing is being at the right place at the right time. In a word: luck!
