From a little dance partner to prancing down the aisle throwing flower petals to smiling chocolate covered faces, kids at weddings are sure to add a lot of laughter to your special day.
Having kids at weddings can be an asset to the day; children can be more than just flower girls and ring bearers. While getting ready, they can provide entertainment and another pair of helpful hands. They can clasp shoes, provide needed hugs, even [attempt to] iron wrinkled dresses. Then, there are ridiculous faces, such as one by a young boy while attempting to put on his first tie. Children are always happy to be included while providing the laughs needed to calm nerves on the wedding day.
When it comes to the ceremony, imagine outfitting the little ring bearer with a “Ring Security” badge instead of the actual ring! It provides the cuteness factor without the risk (pictured below). How about having your own child as part of the ceremony, helping to walk a parent or loved one down the aisle?! For little kids, being a part of something special means they get to play “dress up” and hang out with the adults . . . while warming the hearts of all the other guests.
If you’re not yet sold on including kids into your big day, keep scrolling through the images until you find those taken at the reception, where children get to roam free and dance their hearts out. In preparation for the wedding, take into account the attendance of children. It can provide for some creative ideas like bubbles or games of beanbag toss. Or even special and funny desserts, easier for their little hands to grasp, like cookies and cupcakes. These activities that will be entertaining, not just for the kids, but to the kids-at-heart.
The idea of having kids at weddings can cause some stress as children can be unpredictable. Their smiling faces and ridiculous dance moves can make a wedding much more memorable. There is nothing funnier than kids trying to act or dress like adults. In the end, it is your day and it is your choice on how you make it special; I am just here to capture every moment.
